Cleaners and Waxes 2-12-17

Not knowing what wax or polishers have been used on my CTX I spent a few minutes applying "Original Bike Spirits Spray Cleaner & Polish" distributed by from Amrep on some of the plastics.

Used a yellow microfiber cloth and noticed the rag almost immediately turned black. Since the bike wasn't dirty and is a black model I thought I'd stop and investigate this a little further.

The recommendations say avoid contact on tire, handgrips, and foot pegs. And a danger warning of "contains petroleum distillates"

Any thoughts would be appreciated ...

I use this product every day. I use it on all surfaces, excluding tires, foot pegs, and handgrips. Original Bike Spirits is a wonderful product. No worries.

takes time but I'm using several Mothers products. brings her up brilliantly. paint is ultimate wax system. I know you've got to do it 3 times but the result is great. naturally black for all the raw black plastic plus the seat and doesn't leave it slippery either. I wash her with California Gold Carnauba wash and wax. been using reflections but will be useing California Gold spray wax as a boosta now and then. yes hard work but well worth the effort

It's a Honda and the Bike Spirits was Honda-polish before the branded their product if I remember correctly. Let the Harley guys spend hours polishing and detailing.

Spray it on and wipe it off every once in a while and you are ready to ride

To clean my windshield and the bugs off of the front of my bike I use a solution of water and vinegar. It cuts thru the bugs and grime very quickly.

Don't laugh, but I use Pledge Lemon or Pledge Multi-surface. It leaves no undesirable streaks or residue. It a clean microfiber cloth little to no wiping "off" is needed. Water/Rain beads up nicely, dust is repelled fairly well. Best part of using Pledge, is that it is FAST to do!!

I use a towel with warm water w/ white vinegar to remove bugs from the screen and front/lights. Afterwards, pledge. Bugs are easily removed and water beads off the screen. (Matter of fact, I use two cups white vinegar in a gallon of water with a tablespoon dawn for the washer fluid on my cage. Everyone says it smells like pickles.)

No laughing here. I've been using Lemon Pledge on my Honda Pacific Coast (PC) for years.
It just works. And there is a LOT of plastic body on a PC. Its use is well documented in the PC forums.
My CTX is getting the same treatment for cleaning between major washes.
