Most common or recommended modifications to the CTX1300

I purchased my CTX recently and I am enjoying every minute of it! I have put on about 1,700 miles and have recently changed a few things from the day I purchased it from the dealer. 1) 18" Cee Baileys windshield. I am 6'2" and this help keep the wind directly off of my face and improves my stereo listening. 2) Added the backrest so my passengers don't feel like they are going to fall off when I accelerate. 3) Lowered the handlebars by 1/2" so that I can see the mirrors better. This mod has made my riding much more enjoyable.

I would like to know what mods other people have done that they would recommend. Thank you in advance!

The best (actually the only) mod I did to mine was adding Kuryakyn ISO grips and a Throttle Master. They're bigger around than stock so they're more comfortable to hold while reducing vibration, and the Throttle Master makes it even more relaxing on the right hand, especially on longer rides.

You might also consider a driver's backrest (I'm pretty sure there's at least one option for the stock seat, and a couple of after-market options as well). I've never owned one, but I've ridden a few, and they make a huge difference in comfort.

Center stand. I used the penny method to stretch the spring. Also swapped out the short wind shield for the tall one. In addition added "fit perfect" license plate helmet lock.

Good pic. Looks like it's still wet behind the ears.....

1) Givi V47 tail trunk
2) Corbin seat. Did that for the wife. Now she still won't ride. If I had known, I'd kept the stock seat.
3) Ram mounts in different locations on the handlebars.
4) Saddle bag liners mentioned above.
5) Shelves in bottom of bags.
6) Saddlebag guards <---a must have since these are a little over $100 vs $1200 for just one saddle bag.
7) Tall Honda windshield
8) DIY rear mud flap
9) Front Fender extender
10) Freeway blaster horn
11) I have Kury grips for touring and Pro Grips for local riding.
12) Go Cruze throttle lock
13) 12V socket on the handlebars.
14) Mini floorboards
15) Aluminum air valves for the wheels
16) and most importantly: A Panda Pillion.

And now as others reply, they will read the ones above and say "Oh yeah, I had those too"

How do you remove the caps to get to the nuts holding the handlebar on? Does just the top come off, or is the cap completely over the nut? Is there a special tool to use or you just pry off wth small screw driver. I just happened to look at mine last night and went hmmmm.
Thanks

Are the mini floorboards for both the driver and the rider? What brand did you get?

Got my Blue Deluxe about a month ago and now have almost 900 miles, riding when I can. The 9.5 inches of rain Sun/Mon didn't help me get excited about riding. Yeah, 9.5" in two days. And then today it was knee surgery so I'm down for the count for a week or two - and that hurts. literally! So I've been on an upgrade warpath trying to get everything I want before taking any more longer or slightly longer trips.

Dealer installed:
1)Center Stand
Heated Grips

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it right the second?

Yeah, the cap is on the top only, use a flat screw to remove them (gently)
