HELP! Denali Sound Bomb mounting - Honda CTX1300 Forum

HELP! Denali Sound Bomb mounting

I bought a Denali Sound Bomb air horn for my CTX Deluxe and can't find a suitable location to mount it without having to drill a hole in the fairing. Does anyone else have one and where did you mount it?

Those are the same design as the Stebel Nautilus air horn. Likely exactly the same item with different branding. I used to have a Stebel on my previous Burgman and ST1100 but couldn't find a suitable location on my CTX for it so sold the Stebel and went with Freeway Blasters for the OEM horn location (put one forward and one back to avoid the fender from hitting). Just not enough open space under the plastic on the CTX. It's really packed. Sorry I can't be much help here.

I have the Stebel Nautilus on mine, mounted to the frame just to the right of the lower radiator, as viewed from the front.

There is a threaded boss on each side of the frame just above the front lower frame bend on each side near the bottom. The threads are fine metric pitch, and quite shallow...I think M12 1.5 or so. I had a couple of bolts in my misc bolt tub that ended up fitting.

I used piece of .75" wide x .125" thick x 2.5" long titanium material I had lying around, with a hole drilled near each end to stand the horn away from the frame.

Clears the fender/tire at full suspension compression with an inch to spare, and seems pretty solid - did a 350+ mile trip with no loosening, vibration or other issues.

My bad....

I WAS going to mount the horn to the unused threaded frame boss, but now I remember why I didn't - the threads only go in .25" or so.

What I ended up using was the lower radiator mounting / lower bodywork point, using a slightly longer screw to make up the difference added by my titanium mounting tab.

As stated previously, this mounting option has posed no issues either with fender/tire clearance or mounting vibration.

I too have been looking for a place to mount another horn or maybe driving lights. I’ve taken a couple of pictures of the threaded point/boss that was talked about in a earlier post. It is actually about 3/4” deep. There are also photos of the bolts I located at Lowe’s. I’ll use the left side for a louder horn.
