FYI:
I checked with my local(Atlanta) Puig distributor and just received this reply:

7005H (light smoke) will be available by the end of February. MSRP: $240.33

By then, you may order it through [email protected].

Cool, thanks for coming back with that info. A bit pricey but I guess like with the Cee Bailey those venting solutions drive up the price a bit.

Now I have no regrets about trying the Givi out first ($100 less) but an alternative exists if I feel like that's still not right!

I've never seen the Puig set up. I'm sure it's good though.

Anybody know how tall the puig w/s is above the front fairing? Their web site says 580mm height which converts to 22.8 inches. Im sure that is total height.

Hi Guys,

I installed the PUIG screen with the vent. First impression: way more wind in the face than with the GIVI screen (no, I didn't have the vent open ). I couldn't test it with my wife behind me. After a couple of kms (it's still a bit cold here) I'm thinking of getting the screen extension from PUIG.

The thing is, that this screen has a very steep angle and it's extremely narrow in the upper part. There's no wind from hands up to the shoulders, but then...., though no buffeting.

I have to agree with GermanMike... I just installed the Puig windshield as well. First off the thing looks amazing on the bike (I got the dark smoke for my Red Deluxe). It just looks awesome. Way better than the cheap looking (although functional) Honda Tall screen.

The angle is much steeper than the tall screen so it only comes up to about my chin (I'm 5'9"), the air is forced right into my face (which accounts for the wind noise). The air does go over my chest and shoulders perfectly, and there is no buffeting, but the additional wind noise is definitely noticeable.

I have the Cee Baily sport shield as well, but it simply doesn't do the job for me. Actually the original shorty screen performs better in my opinion.

And as mentioned, I have the Honda tall screen, which works well... the top of the shield is right at my nose so the air hits right about the forehead area on my full face helmet. but I've never liked the way it looks. It just looks like a cheap piece of plastic with a few holes in it. Again, works OK but looks like crap in my opinion. Why take a cool bike and make it look crappy?

I really hoped the Puig screen would be "the right" shield but I'm still searching. I do love the appearance and for summer riding the air flow on my face might be fine, but if I wanted that, I could use the shorty screen.

May try the laminar lip or Puig screen extention on the Puig winshield and see if that helps. If you're looking to purchase the Puig screen just be aware that it sits very low and swept back. Looks coo,l but doesn't perform as well as the Tall screen if you're 5'9" or taller.

@Ftroop , I really like the look of the dark screen but have been reluctant to purchase a tall one because I thought it would affect my viewing while riding. Any problems with vision at all through the dark tint?

I'm going to Fabricate one from Lexan when my Shop gets a little warmer. I have the shorty that was Stock to use for a Pattern for mounting. I've Fabricated hundreds go Race Car Parts so this should be Fun. I'm going to try to incorporate a Lip on the top like Klock Weeks. If made a couple replacement M/C windshields but none with a Lip.

No problem seeing through the dark screen... It's really a dark smoke not black, so you can see fine. Plus, you really shouldn't be looking through a windshield, you really should be looking over it. And it's very easy to do that with one, since it sits so low. It does however make the area around the instrument panel a bit darker.
