Middle cowl replacement question

Hey, gang - for those that have changed out the middle cowl to alleviate the “broken tab” situation ... how can I assure that I am getting the -updated- version? Is it a different part # than the original? Believe that, for a blue LH, I need 64350-MJN-A00ZE. Just don’t wanna drop near $200 and end up with the same POS that I have now!!

Someone on the forum posted a photo some time ago that showed the tab in question. The newer panel has more plastic reinforcing to prevent that tab from bending/breaking away from the middle cowl. I never received the newer part since it came out after I replaced mine with a new panel... after 3 attempts to get one from the factory that wasn't broken to start with. My dealer handled those defective ones as mentioned in The Broken Tab Story thread. Another part that was modified to be better is the battery cover panel with larger edge tabs to hold it down.
This is the original tab, broken on my original middle cowl:

Note the flanges on each side of the tab that connect to the panel... you can see the cracked plastic on mine but should still be able to determine how the original looks. The newer updated panel has much larger flanges on each side of the tab to prevent this kind of cracking.

Hope this helps a little.

Before I installed my new cowl, I reinforced it with epoxy, plus angle brackets on the tabs. Can't recall the details now, and I sure ain't taking it off....
