Rear trunk

Can't find the metallic black rear trunk anywhere! Must be some kind of conspiracy I'm guessing. Anyone have a link they can share?

I didn't like the looks of Honda's rear trunk. I used one from a 1983 GL1100 trunk, painted top gloss black, bottom matte black. Matches saddlebags perfectly. I liked the 1100 trunk much better.

But to answer your question... they are still available from Honda.

you are looking for Honda part number: 08L74-MJN-A02ZC

At a glance - yes it seems the black is in zero supply from vendors.

Are you sure about that?

Even Honda's very own page doesn't seem to list the black one:
ACCESSORIES, STREET, Touring, CTX1300 Deluxe, 2014*| Honda Powersports

Is this the beginning of parts scarcity for this model?

Perhaps a call or chat with Honda PowerSports is in order?

Don't have a link, but I have an alternative to the OEM trunk. I use the SHAD SH48 top box.

I appreciate all the feedback. I kind of just want to stay OEM just for the sake of OEM. I do like the trunk and I don't take real long trips but it's nice going to work are you can put your lunch in there and you can actually fit to full face helmet so I do like that for the wife and I. But drilling a hole in that rear rack really makes me have some reservations. That's kind of scary thought but I'll look into it if I can't find one from Honda I'm looking for.

@Captainearlb I don't think the install of a non-OEM trunk involves drilling the OEM luggage rack. I believe most people drill the aftermarket trunk to match the hole pattern of the OEM. But yes the OEM look is superior to the aftermarket IMHO. Did you call Honda PowerSports yet?

I installed a GIVI trunk along with the GIVI mounting plate. It didn't require any drilling on the bike or the GIVI mounting plate. I like it as it allows the trunks removal at any time without any tools.

I mounted a tour pack on the stock luggage rack and used the existing drilled and tapped holes. It's for sale on here with pictures, I'll never use it so make me an offer.
