Since it is a factory option they have to make it to abide by all state laws which prohibit fog lights being on with high beams. The opposite technically applies to driving lights... which must be off with low beams per state laws. Although I do fudge on that one with the driving lights I installed through a separate switch not tied to the headlight system.

There is no question that the Honda OEM lights are spectacular. But as a guy who's owned Gold Wings for 36 years straight, the notion of dropping that kind of money on lights is ridiculous. I added lights to each of my Wings and never dropped more than $100 for the upgrade. I bought My CTX Deluxe from a private seller who really tweaked out the bike, including the lights. He dropped $1,000 on the light kit and installation. How outrageous is that?

They look good! Where did you buy these? I can't find the Honda fog lights on the web.

@Quentin Smeltzer , If you buy direct from Honda go to the Accessories page for the CTX1300 and scroll through the list. There is an attachment kit and the LED lights.
https://powersports.honda.com/2014/c...cessories.aspx

You can also copy the Honda part number from that page for both kits and do a Google search for other possible vendors with them. I did a search and found Amazon has the Honda LED lights for a few $$$ less.

As an alternative you can choose to do as I did. WAY less cost than OEM kit. Driving lights instead of fog lights though, very bright.

New Driving Lights Installed

My plan is to do what Bob did but use the OEM electric harness with switch.
