Like Bob said it is stamped into the key switch, probably on the side but could be on the end cap. PIA to get too but there's no doubt that it's the correct number.

Here is the answer to your problem since I just went trough it. You have to get the key code from the side of the cylinder and you can go online to keys4urride.com and he will make you two keys and shipping for $116.00 and you should have it in a day or so. The keys worked great. He is located in Hendersonville, NC. but does not want to do local pickup due to Security and Safety. Guess I can't blame him. Have a good one.

I'm guessing these are the direct links to the keys:
Honda Laser Track Key 35121-MJE-A02 Honda [35121-MJE-A02] - $25.00 : Motorcycle Key Blanks, Honda, Ducati, Kawasaki Motorcycle Key Blanks, Scooter, ATV Keys Yamaha, Keys4UrRide.com
Honda Laser Track Key 35121-MJE-A02 35121-MJE-A02 [35121-MJE-A02] - $25.00 : Motorcycle Key Blanks, Honda, Ducati, Kawasaki Motorcycle Key Blanks, Scooter, ATV Keys Yamaha, Keys4UrRide.com

So now that we have a part number.... 35121-MJE-A02 (for the black logo)... 35121-MGP-A93 (for the red logo) you can purchase the true Honda blank and then any keymaker should do it.

Have you tried AceHardware?
Ace Hardware

I can't see the complexity that results in paying $58 for each key without a chip (even if that does include labor / mailing the key).

Heck for $13 I might just try this seller:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Motor...y/182917157822

you provide make/model/key code and tada key sent!

also maybe helpful for someone in the future of the internet the CTX 1300 uses the same key as: 2014+ CBR1000, CBR1000RR, CBR 1000 VFR800, VFR1200, CBR650F, Interceptor 800
2015 + NC700JD
Blue Baron likes this.

Cheap ebay spare key option is a No-Go.

@CaliChaos I checked with the $13 ebay key cutter. He can't do CTX1300 keys. he said that they are "Sidewinder" keys: "a key that the cut kind of winds around the sides of the key, not traditionally cut teeth on both sides"... and he does not do those. So, so far no inexpensive ebay option.

I bought a official Honda blank from Partzilla for cheap... then locally found a locksmith (A-1 Locksmith) in Dallas that would cut the key. They Charged $26 to make the copy. I only did one to have so I could attach to my jacket for easy use of opening fuel door and cases during IBA rallies and rides. After the copy was made it had some sharp edges so I got a sponge with a course side and rubbed it a bit to wear down a bit. Works like a charm now.

35121-MGP-A93 KEY, BLANK (American Honda) $16.07

As I was scrolling through the menus on the dash when I got the bike last November. I'm sure I saw some sort of HISS(?) setting. Assumed that that was for a chipped key/security indicator.

Is your bike a non USA / CANADA bike? If yes then yes to HISS. If no then no to HISS.

more reading:
https://www.ctx1300forum.com/forum/ho...-keys-fyi.html
https://www.ctx1300forum.com/forum/ho...ey-blanks.html

if you view the NON USA/CANADA model owner's manual it DOES mention hiss:
https://ownersmanuals2.com/honda/ctx...s-manual-60937

note: why HONDA USA you make it SO hard to find a PDF of the owner's manual??? Oh I know why.. they want to sell you one:
Honda Motorcycle CTX1300 2014 Owner Manuals

I was hoping to find it crawling this link or things similar:
http://owners.honda.com/assets/OWNER...4_VTX1300C.pdf

in google I attempted:
site: http ://owners.honda.com CTX

also:
site: http ://owners.honda.com 1300

but that just reveals the Fury
http://owners.honda.com/assets/OWNER.../2010/Fury.pdf

so then of course I tried
http://owners.honda.com/assets/OWNER...e/2014/CTX.pdf - NOPE
http://owners.honda.com/assets/OWNER...14/CTX1300.pdf - NOPE
http://owners.honda.com/assets/OWNER...4/CTX1300A.pdf - NOPE

grrrr

well update.. I visited my local Ace Hardware... they said the machine currently does not do sidewinder keys.. they will have an upgrade in 2 months that will. Additionally they will only cut their blanks, so bringing in the Honda part to cut will not work. The nice lady gave me a reference to a keymaker locally that will cut anything.. just bring it to them. So my next quest is to get the blank.. and go pay them a visit. The saga continues.
