Fixed potholes like ice ...
The county came up my street patching potholes a couple of days ago. They are visible by being a slightly lighter color than the old asphalt of the street. Most of them 1-2 diameter.
Come to find out the "lighter color" is from a final dusting of finely crushed rock they put on top of each patch.
My street winds around trees, some of them in small islands in the middle. The road goes up and down several medium sized hills as well. The first patch I ran over, being on a slight curve I noticed a small, almost imperceptible, little jerk in the handlebars. The 2nd one was in a similar curve and the front tire slid over a couple of inches doing around 20 mph. Never felt the back tire loose traction.
They did a great job though. No edge divots and smoothly blended into the road. Maybe a good rain will flush the loose dust/rock away. If not traffic and the summer heat will help restore the traction. Until then just something to be aware of.
