Nope -- haven't stopped anywhere yet in the daylight that I can take a good one. Garage is too dark, and to be honest I just keep forgetting to take one.

I appreciate the heads up on shipping damage.

My local dealership had two ctx1300s in the service area. The dealer indicated that these were the first two they had received and had yet to sell either. The dealer had one partially assembled, and the other was still sitting in the crate, or what was left of it. The metal frame of the crate was literally bent around the motorcycle resulting in extensive damage.

I conducted an inspection of the partially assembled bike and noticed a broken right foot peg and flat spots on the bottom right side of the exhaust. The broken foot peg is visible in the attached photo. The rest of the machine looked clean and the dealer has the parts to correct. The dealer indicated that the bike would be ready to go this Friday. I'm on the fence about concluding the deal.. something irritating about dropping 16 g on damaged goods, repaired or not.

Garage
When you go back for that test ride that will make up your mind for you be sure to have the dealer lower the bars for you... While you sit on the bike so they are adjusted to the right level for you to see the mirrors... yet still miss the storage lids when they are open.

Hi Bob,

I appreciate the tip.

I've been riding sport bikes for 18 years.. after a spectacular stupidity induced high side, I stopped riding completely a few years ago. I've always enjoyed distance riding even on a rocket and as I've gotten older I find myself drawn to comfort/cruising over near death adrenaline filled experiences and back pain..

The ctx1300 was really the first bike that got my attention in years. I hope it works out.

I look forward to contributing.

Welcome aboard, J.

If you want comfort, you've come to the right place.

Hopefully you'll get to take that test ride Friday. If you've still got some riding in you, I'm pretty sure it will sell you.

Ed

Hi Ed,

Thanks-

I'm looking forward to it. I certainly have the itch to get back in the saddle.. strangely my leather motorcycle jacket appears to have shrunk in the gut area after the long break from riding.. weird how that happens..

That itch usually means it's a matter of when, not if. Now it's just a matter of finding the right machine (and maybe a new jacket).

BTW, I never stopped riding (although I did put embarrassingly few miles on the last two seasons), and my jacket still shrunk.

Picked mine up last Saturday

Thanks for the tip! I was able to look at mine underneath when I picked it up.

Everything looked the way it should.
