Make it $12,000 and I'll be first in line!

They might get there....you see CTX deluxe guys on here that grabbed them for $10K and this bike looks like even more of a pricing pooch-screw

That depends on the red line of the engine. My '94 Magna has a red line of 10,500 rpm and also turns around 4500 rpm at 70 mph. It has over 51,000 smiles on it and is just getting broken in. Some on the Magna forum have over 300,000 smiles on there bikes and a few have over 100,000 smiles on there's. So running a thoroughbred Honda engine at 4500 rpm should not hurt it at all. It was made to crank! Wind it up and let it go.

What are those boxes on the front sides? RAM air scoops? Does it have a turbo too?

Oh, wait. It has a HEMI! Of course.

I hope they don't do like Harley and Indian. Those guys change the trim on an existing model and have a big New Model Release event.

It would be great if they just put a modern engine in the new Venture. They could call it the 21st Century Venture and market it as a bike for folks who like to ride more than they like to show off at the local bar. I don't think very many people want a 900 pound tourer with a 1950s style air-cooled heavy V Twin motor from any manufacturer that wasn't making a similar bike in the early '50s. That just leaves Harley and Indian. Everyone else should build modern bikes.

Or maybe they'll just change the fenders a bit and claim it's a different model.

Yamaha FB says: "unveiling of an exciting new touring model September 6, 2017" https://www.facebook.com/yamahamotorusa/

I suspect it's a trimmed down Star Ventura since it has been announced on the USA page and not on Yamaha Europe.
Also the video promoting the event shows a couple of older model Yamaha V2 (Rider and Road Star).
