my rides today

My post yesterday doesn't seem to have gone through. I arrived here in the Smokies yesterday after a good trip. Today I rode the Rattler and the Dragon and really enjoyed them both. To me, the Rattler is so much better because of the scenery. The dragon was a challenge but not a much as I thought it would be. I guess all the videos I saw made me think it was super difficult. I didn't go fast but I did enjoy the challenge. I hope to ride the Cherohala Skyway tomorrow. I will post how things go on the Skyway.

If you really like scenery on a slow road, I recommend that you take a side trip from the Cherohala Skyway up to Bald River Falls. The road runs along the Tellico River. On weekdays the traffic is usually low enough to get a photo of your bike parked on the bridge with the waterfall in the background.

The road doesn't really go anywhere, but it's still a good ride up and then back down the river.

The Cherahala Skyway

I rode the skyway today and it is a great ride and a lot of views. I was glad for the light traffic so I could ride my own ride. I went on the Moonshiner 28 also today but got turned around by the monsoon. I hope to maybe complete that ride tomorrow if the weather holds. I will say this, the CTX1300 is a dream to ride in the mountains.
