I will Never own another Black bike or vehicle EVER!!

I will take any color other than black.

The Blue is to much like black for me.

I will take a RED one,

I would like a White bike.

Or I will repaint it, a burnt orange would look excellent, a copper color,

The red and the blue are nice colors but I don't really like the dark blue. It would be nice if they offered a few more colors. A nice green, white, and maybe a purple or beige.

What colors would you like to see that aren't offered currently?

@westgl

Why not black? is it because the swirls and scratches show up easily or...?

I have a strong feeling that red will be the popular choice for the CTX1300. Good to see another color added though. The blue doesn't look bad.

1. Black is a Hot color meaning it absorbs heat very quickly when in direct sun, this damages the paint, all of the black vehicles i have had, the paint fades sooner than other lighter colors.
2. swirling yes that is /can be a problem
3. Water spots very easily.
4. shows dirt much faster than lighter colors.
5. Lighter colors are easier to see. Think about a motorcycle profile at 100ft - 300ft away traveling at you. then think most people in cars treat you like you are invisible to begin with don't give the cager another reason for them not to see you or not to be seen.
6. Black/Dark color plus a dark day/night Not a good combination.

Light bright reflective colors, then the brightest most amount of light you can put out is the best.

I will have my low beams on and use the flash to pass button, when going through a intersection, and /or put on my high beam during the day.

Flashing the low to high beam provides a Movement that gets attention, a wig,wag controller on the tail light to flash the brake light is also very good

Some people drive while they are a sleep, and may be lacking something other than brains, if you come across that person, better to have something that gets attention.

Just drive the speed limit, and/or a radar detector on the bike.

I always try to make eye contact and put on very loud horns dual 135 decibels, high/low horns, when in doubt blast um.

I do NOT believe in loud exhaust at all.

I want the most quiet exhaust exhaust I can get.

BANG ON!

You nailed every possible negativity with owning a black bike. :)

And yes I am not a fan of loud pipes either. Bad enough we have to deal with the silent killer (wind noise).

I have had black bikes before, but never again.

I do not deal with wind noise, i eliminate the harsh part of it.

I use a positive pressure windshield, that is totally adjustable.
adjustment in tilt and height.
adjust-ability of a positive Pressure windshield system, makes a BIG difference.

Smooth air!! is great!! and very quiet too!!

It smooths out the wind noise so much, that while riding on the freeway at 65mph with helmets on my wife and i can have a conversation in a normal voice without yelling.
Like in a car.

everyone knows red is faster :p
That is absolutely correct, and there's even scientific fact to back it up. Red has the longest wavelength, so at the same frequency it gets there faster than any other color. To slow it down to give the other colors a fighting chance, the physics gods gave it the lowest frequency. But it didn't work, because, (in my best Kramer voice) red is still fastest. :p

Theoretically, yes; but I have first hand evidence to the contrary. Several years ago on my very light silver ST1300, an idiot cager pulled right out in front of me from a side street. I was behind three other cars going through the intersection, with another car right behind me. I always ride in the left third of the travel lane, specifically for visibility reasons, and we were spaced far enough apart that I was plainly visible, but not so far apart that there was room for him to blast through. There's no way he could have not seen me if he was actually looking. I on the other hand did see him coming and grabbed a handful and bootful of brakes and slowed down enough to avoid a big collision, but not enough to avoid a small one. The abrupt stop sent me rolling and my wife flying over me to the pavement. The bike looked like he11, but we were mostly ok -- pretty shook up, and she had a good bruise on her hip. Anyway -- his reason for not seeing us -- and he admitted he didn't see us -- was that the bike was almost the same color as the road. He couldn't explain how he missed those two humongous headlights, but I could -- he was on his %#[email protected]^ cell phone.

But in defense of your hypothesis, I think I could have been on a bumble-bee yellow ride and the chucklehead still wouldn't have seen me.

It is known that silver is the difference.

Silver bikes are different for some reason, do a google on that color and you will see.

For some reason that color is a invisible color of the light colors

I've never really considered if people will be noticing my bike for its color, at least not as a safety issue. As long as you wear some reflectors you should be fine in the end. I can see how silver blends in most though. The road is grey, most cars are grey, building are stone of glass which look silvery. Basically everything is grey/silver.

I usually get excited about the color of a new vehicle. Then I end up buying whatever they have on the showroom floor.

After a week they're all dirt colored anyway. The only time I ever wash a bike is when it has salt underneath. Even then I don't usually wash the top of the bike.

My Triumph dealer washes every bike that comes into the shop. With 10,000 mile service intervals, it will probably get washed twice per year.

I really like the blue CTX1300 with the dark wheels. But I'll end up buying whichever color comes in first.
