My CTX1300 with 19k is idling at 2.2k warmed up. It's not dropping to 1 k as it should. I had this problem using regular fuel and switched to premium the Idle problem went away for a year. Now, for the last week, the bike idles 2.2k, it's very annoying.
Some idle fixes on this thread range from disconnecting the battery, and checking for vacuum leaks to reprograming the ECU.
I may replace my spark plugs with Iridium Type. I hope this helps. A dealer may charge me an arm and leg to reprogram the ECU.

Any thoughts
i'd do anything and everything before taking it to a stealership. change plugs out. check all rubber/plastics around engine intake. hoses, etc.etc. stealerships will do the same.

I neglected to update this thread with the solution my dealer finally found. He replaced the IAC step motor [twice]. Part number 16430-MJN-A02, plus some misc parts for a total $300 in parts plus two hours labor. Prices as of 2/2021. Problem started at about 45,000 miles.

See attached invoice. Note discount on parts, as he tried this once before, so gave me a credit on those parts. Been running fine for 20,000 miles since.

I'll give my bike a look at. I have taken off the cover before. I should just buy these parts before I get started.
Thanks

All these parts from Partzilla, discounted 242.25, with free shipping, and no sales tax.
A dealer would charge 324.94 plus tax and labor.
I just going to order these parts.
This is quite a job. Removing parts. I know I changed the air filter a few years ago!
I think these parts should do it.
Thanks again for the parts list, you made my day!

You welcome. Good luck. Wish I had the skills for this stuff.

Just remember that the repair didn't work the first time. Honda had recommended this method after the mechanic couldn't find the problem. After the first replacement failed, mechanic called Honda Central, who said to replace it again. Hope your works the first time....

Yes!

I have a service manual for this model.

I just finished talking to a local Motorcycle Mechanic. He has never worked on this model. He was very nice. I told him, the bike warms up fine. But when I touch the throttle, the bike stays at 2.2k. He said to check for vacuum leaks, check lines, and check for cracks. If there are leaks, the computer doesn't know what to do. I told him I was going to change the parts on the part list I ordered, he said great

I will check the IACV when I'm in there.

Wish me luck

I will get back to this forum about my progress.

Thanks again

Let us know if you have any questions. Take your time while you have everything apart, do not rush it. I'm very familiar with the throttle bodies, and I had to get to them to install the MC Cruise.

Update on the high idle problem! I got the bike back from the Honda Dealer today. Diagnostic / Valve Adjustment 2.50 hours labor. 312.50 @ 125.00 per hour, including a safety check!
Valves were adjusted, off a little bit, installed new valve cover gaskets. ECU had 1 error code that they cleared, ECU was up to date.
The error code was from me putting a new IACV motor valve in.
The total charge was 409.66.
I had the side and top cowl/covers off which saved me some labor money.
The shop appreciated that.

The bike runs great, idle at 1.1k at warmed up! Drove the bike home from the shop, no idle problem.

A Valve adjustment and clearing codes made the bike run correctly, crazy!
Any thoughts?

Note he said he installed a new IACV motor valve. Replacing my IACV motor valve [twice] fixed mine, as in my prior post. Likely that new part had something to do with it.
