I am eagerly waiting for this bike to come in, too. I have had this in mind ever since I sat on the first ST, which fit me like a glove,

However, I can't seem to find the bike in all it's desired componentry. LOL! I loved the old PC800, but after FI, never go back to carbs, But it had a shaft drive, and integrated bags if you will, and was reliable as all get out. Almost there.

Then the ST fit so well, a shaft drive, great looks, but no DCT, which is what I really want after studying it all. I commute on the freeway, heavy traffic, and just want a single gear drive there, and thumb shift when I'm playing on the backroads. Best of both worlds in my opinion.

Then the NT700V comes out with a shaft drive, and a DCT and then they stopped making them. Don't particular care for the new CTX's that took it's place, AND it went back to chain drive. Dang it!

So then this 1300 comes out, and I'm hoping for it all. Nope, back to only a standard transmission. Everything else I want, but no DCT. Sigh. I also would do the VFR 1200 Touring in a DCT but it looks like the VFR T is not going to make it here either.

So I guess I'll be waiting another year or two and see how the CTX will go, maybe sooner than later a DCT.

Hello, and welcome aboard! Check out the rest if the forums -- there are a few discussions going on related to DTC.

As for the VFR1200, somebody over on the ST forums said he was told that there is a 2014 model coming to the US. If not the T, you should still be able to get the touring accessories for it separately. Hopefully somebody will have the ride that's right for you. ;)

welcome aboard! My question to you is how important are any of the individual factors to you're decision. For example is chain driven more of a deal breaker than say no DCT?

I guess what I'm trying to say is how likely are you to pass based on the omission of say 1 of your ideal factors...
