I have 60K KLM (37K miles) on my bike. Has anyone with way more miles ever needed to change the clutch plates and other similar parts. There is nothing wrong with my clutch but I was thinking of buying parts now while they are easily available. Any thoughts friends?
Attached is the suggestion from a Honda dealer. Are these the parts that should be replaced?

I bought a set of clutch pads and a cover gasket for when it's time, because I don't want to be down waiting on the parts. Like you, I was concerned on the time it might take to get those parts.

And since I pull a trailer my clutch isn't going to last as long as a bike that doesn't pull trailers. My last two bikes needed clutch pads due to trailer towing, but they were also smaller bikes with smaller clutches. I expect the CTX clutch will last longer, but will eventually start slipping. Currently 37k+ miles and going strong.

But how can you tell clutch wear with a hydraulic system? It's easy with a cable because it needs adjustment as the plates wear down. A hydraulic system self adjusts like it does with brake pads.

Thanks Greg, my thoughts exactly. 2 years from now it will cost more also. Good question on the hydraulic system. I am thinking the performance would show decay. RPM's at 60 MPH, and acceleration performance. I'm going to buy the clutch parts recommended. I think because this bike was only made for 1 year that parts may be harder to get as time goes on. Thank you for your input.

Yep. The clutch will start slipping when it's gone, but I'd like to have a little more early warning so I don't damage the plates in between the pads.

Also, that image you posted shows a #7 clutch pad but it isn't on the parts list below. Try looking at the parts diagram from Honda parts direct.

Thanks Greg and I will add #7 to my list

Hello guys. Just wondering about "these" parts availability. Are they the same as the ST1300 clutch? The number 7 mentioned before is the same for the ST and the CTX. If all match they should be available for a while yet.
I'm guessing they're the same. I've never read anything about the clutch or transmission being different in the CTX. One way to check is look up the parts for both bikes.
I would like to find some explanation on why the inner and outer clutch plates are different than the rest. It was the same way on my other bikes.

I bought the parts on the attached pdf, including #7 (Thanks Greg) and the main bearing #23. All parts were available in 1 day in Edmonton Alberta.
