Awesome! Thanks GregoryDo some searching in this forum for past discussions on this topic.
Search MCCruise, cruise control, etc.
You will find Q&A that will cover questions and concerns you will have.
I have the MCCruise and thought it a bit expensive until I realized how well made and how well designed it is for the CTX. It's not exactly some one size fits all design.
And it's very responsive, holding the set speed without any lag in throttle to keep set speed approaching inclines.
Worth every penny in my opinion.
(Edit) I noticed you may have the CTX without ABS/TC. I'm going by wheel and foot peg panel colors.
This will be handy:

MCCruise on a standard CTX
I forget who asked me about installing the MCCruise on a standard CTX, but since I have the "hood" open.... The instructions have the throttle solenoid mounted on top this box but thats on a deluxe model with ABS. The brake lines are different on the non ABS and it won't fit up there without...www.ctx1300forum.com
I believe the wheel and foot peg panel colors are only a US thing. The rest of the world gets all the "deluxe" goodies, and some, standard. Dont know if you can get blacked out wheels etc outside of the US....I noticed you may have the CTX without ABS/TC. I'm going by wheel and foot peg panel colors.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about that myself. The blacked out looks nice and it would have been great if there was a buyers choice to have either.I believe the wheel and foot peg panel colors are only a US thing. You don't need to grind out the clutch bracket. Just wrap a thin piece of plastic around the handlebar. It gives you the extra thickness to create a gap in the clutch bracket for the control bracket to fit. And it still tightens down properly.Well, I decided to pull the trigger on the McCruise. Need to change out my air filter this winter anyway, so I thought I’d just take off a few more pieces and keep goin’!
They are also offering a new slim vertical switch that mounts around the handlebar next to the handgrip rather than above clutch reservoir, so less fiddlin’ with any grinding and it should look less conspicuous as well.
Not looking forward to ALL of the teardown, but know the pleasure to come during riding season will be worth it. Now I gotta order the thing.
I find myself lifting my hand from the grip most of the time to push the buttons. I thought about the ring style controller, but I plan to use that space for a mounting clamp. Thanks Greg. I did see your other post about this to avoid grinding, so thanks for clarifying for me and others here.
I think I’m gonna go with the new slim vertical unit as it just seems a little more inconspicuous and maybe a little easier to reach? I’ve set on the bike with my left hand on the grip and tried to emulate my thumb reaching the two potential control locations, but won’t be able to fully tell until it’s on the bike.
I use the K&N filter and clean it whenever I have the "hood" open. You might want to consider changing the air filter while you are in there.
Thanks Greg, yep, I have a new one ready to goYou might want to consider changing the air filter while you are in there.
If it's this one, you can get 100 pcs for $6 on ebaySo I’m quite a ways through the cruise install. When I pulled the center cowl off, I discover that neither of the two rear mounting holes had pushpins in them. I’ve read lots of opinions about replacing pushpins as they weaken, so I went searching for these in particular and noticed they were a different part number than others so I assume they may be wider or longer? But they are like $5 a piece! I don’t need them that bad cuz they weren’t there in the first place.
Do any of you have a place you get either generic or replacement pushpins at a lower price? I’m thinking they are prob used in a multitude of applications? But I’m guessing they can differ in length or shaft size so it’s hard to know the exact size you may need.
Well Greg. You certainly win the helpful award. I found both, but before I purchase, do you know if the bumper clip would also be the 6mm size?If it's this one, you can get 100 pcs for $6 on ebay View attachment 48552
If it's the one on the side under the seat cushion with the center that pulls out, you should find them pretty cheap on eBay too. Do a search for 6mm push pin for the pick above.
Or search for "bumper clip" for the other one.
