Well Greg. You certainly win the helpful award. I found both, but before I purchase, do you know if the bumper clip would also be the 6mm size?
Just did a little lookin', pokin' and prodding.

The only pins I have on the top cover are push pins. (Upper left in photo)
The bumper clip is in the side cover (see the flat head plastic pin lower right)
I swapped locations and the bumper clip is also 6mm diameter. I'm not sure why that was used, as the head of the pin is the only real difference. The pin itself doesn't seem to be any stronger or different.

Thanks again. You've been quite helpful Greg. I went ahead and ordered both types from ebay to have on hand for other applications as well. I figured for $5ish bucks for 100, it is fine to have them around for whatever reason. I have more time on my hands these days anyway with a much less stressful job, and I'm close to retirement, so I do all the maintenance and repair so I'm sure I'll be needing more and more. The shipping alone on a few OEM pins is 3-4 times the price of these on ebay and they include shipping!! WTF? Thanks again.

So I’m quite a ways through the cruise install. When I pulled the center cowl off, I discover that neither of the two rear mounting holes had pushpins in them. I’ve read lots of opinions about replacing pushpins as they weaken, so I went searching for these in particular and noticed they were a different part number than others so I assume they may be wider or longer? But they are like $5 a piece! I don’t need them that bad cuz they weren’t there in the first place. Do any of you have a place you get either generic or replacement pushpins at a lower price? I’m thinking they are prob used in a multitude of applications? But I’m guessing they can differ in length or shaft size so it’s hard to know the exact size you may need.

Well….I made it through the cruise install. Setup, diagnostics, wires zip tied, and all reassembled. As others have said, if you go slow and enjoy futzin, it’s a great way to learn some things about the bike. I was very happy when I started the bike and went through the initial setup with everything working just as described in the instructions!

Trying to use the printed instructions for pictures/visual references was not helpful for me. I used the text, but found it helpful to have a version on my phone as well just for pics where the details could be viewed and seen much better. This way I could also pinch and increase the pic size to further see detail.

Yes, there were a couple minor tweaks to verbiage that personally would have helped clarify for me, but as others have said, the Aussie’s did a spectacular job and CLEARLY laid out the steps to follow.

Now with about 12” of snow received here last night, I’m really itching to road test, but sadly it will be a while……G’day mate!

You guys got more than we did in West Des Moines. We only had about 6 inches of the white stuff. Still it will be a few days before roads are ready to ride again.
Yeah. We have had very little snow in Iowa City this winter. I went through the usual hassle of putting chains on my tractor last fall, and was beginning to think I’d go the whole season without using it once to clear snow, but that all changed yesterday….

I am almost finished my install, I have 2 wires to connect then she is ready for test / calibrating.
I was fine with push pins, I paid $6.00 each for 1/2 dozen.
What I did not find was 2 pieces of plastic that flew off the open / lock assembly for the fuel fill cover when removed :(
The instructions said I had the choice .... so I removed the cowl rather than working around it.
My replacement parts will be in the end of April.
I have a pretty clean, organized and heated shop, but have no idea where these 2 parts went. I expect I will find them when I have the new ones in hand :)
I must say - excellent instructions from McCruise and staff !

You'll find the parts later, according Murphy's Law.

Glen, I took the same route and decided to remove the fuel tank cowl rather than having it hang in the way. I'm still glad I did, but when I loosened the screws to free the cable, same thing happened. That spring done did sprung and parts flew. Luckily, I had it positioned in a way that they just dropped and I quickly found them, but as soon as I did I thought, "Crap:poop:! I HAD to remove that darn thing didn't I as I heard my father's voice from years ago saying, "Had to F with again didn't ya?" When reassembling, I put it all together as needed and then put the screws far enough in to hold it all in place, but loose enough to allow the cable to slide in there. Not gonna lie. It was a little bit of a challenge. The whole time I was praying that thing would stay together and not fly all over again.
