Factory Mirror Attachments

I have a friend who rides a Can-Am. The Can-Am mirrors he owns originally attached to the Can-Am in a similar fashion as the mirrors for my CTX1300 attach to my bike, with three connection points. He converted his mirror attachment to use very strong earth magnets that attach to the mirrors and the bikes where studs were previously. He purchased an aftermarket kit to make this work. Has anyone looked at this, or converted your 1300’s to something like this? Would this work on our bikes?
