So I'm thinking about upgrading and using a gps instead google maps on my cell phone. I find it over heats my phone sometimes and weather conditions. I was curious if anybody on here is using the garmin Zumo396 Lt? And what are there thoughts after buying it?

while the Garmin Zumo 396 LMT-S hasn't been specifically discussed here previously (that I could find). There are a few general conversations about the Garmin Zumo in general.

TLDR; the Garmin Zumo is a decent model and it does the job as expected no surprises. It will function as a GPS in the most basic of requirements and is durable enough to survive life on the handlebars.

I use a much larger Garmin nüvi 65LMT something I got at the local pawn shop.. I mount it on the handle bars and use a Honda tall windshield. At highway speeds the windshield deflects the rain enough not to matter. As slow speeds the GPS gets a few drops of rain and has survived thus far.

Garmin Zumo 396 LMT-S

I have hardwired a Zumo 396 LMT-S and mounted it to the left-side hand controls. I also have a very first, original Zumo 550 attached to a Ducati Multistrada. While the 550 has a nice screen presence, I really like the feature set and data capabilities of the 396. It is a nice unit and works well.
