Hi everyone. I've been riding for 32 years and am excited to see the introduction of the CTX1300. Due to a hip injury, I can no longer ride sport bikes and sport tourers and am looking for a bike that can do distances comfortably. I sat on the CTX1300 at the Long Beach show and found it to be quite comfortable. I've ridden the ST1300 before, so I know I'll like the motor (even though it's tuned differently). I truly hope the handling is more sporty than a cruiser. I typically ride 300-600 mile days and do one to two long tours a year. I really hope this bike works for me!

I currently have a Triumph Speedmaster, a Suzuki DR650, and an old BMW R100RS that I'm slowly restoring. In the past I've had a Ninja 250 (first gen with the ugly white wheels), a Yamaha FZ-1, and a Honda VFR800, but due to the hip, they became unridable for me. I look forward to being part of this community!

Good to have you here! I'm jealous that you got to sit on a new CTX!

About handling, I'm very optimistic. One thing I've noticed about all the Honda's I've owned is that they are all very well-mannered. From the VFR800 to the VTX1800, they can be absolute beasts, but they are all very rideable and responsive to rider inputs.

I've got a Triumph Thunderbird now, which was touted as being a great-handling bike for a 740-lb cruiser. Well, it does handle very well for a big bike, but not noticeably better than the big VTX. Honda manages to make a lot of weight disappear once the wheels are rolling. I have no doubt they will work the same kind of magic on the CTX1300.

any photos of you on the CTX1300?

and welcome aboard good to have you on the team:D
Thanks for the welcomes, folks! Here's the only pic I was able to get with my crappy camera phone. The show was crowded and Honda's booth was smaller than its been in the past. The bike in the pic is the deluxe. They also had a red standard there on display. They definitely generated a lot of interest from the crowd!
