Hello from an older rider and forum newbie here in S/E CT. Long term though mostly an occassional (& fair weather) rider over the years since my first used CL350 in '73 (which was bored out to 400). It was replaced with a '70 CB750 which was replaced with a new '78 GL1000 (which I then Vettered up), which was replaced with a new '81 GL1100 Interstate. I then added an '82 V45 Sabre (to reduced the old man rider image caused by the Wings) and in '88 replaced the Interstate with a new GL1500. Current rides are still the '82 V45 Saber (owned since orderd, now w/ ~ 12kmi), and 88 Wing (owned since orderd, now w/ ~14kmi)... told you I was a occassional fair weather guy. However, I just recently purchased '08 GL1800 Wing (Nav/Comfort w/ 17kmi) and want to get in more riding miles going forward. I've always been very anal with my "TOYS" so all have been garaged and covered (like my Cars) when not in use so old those ones are still in like new condition. My mint 88 Wing is for sale now as I await my CTX 1300 Blue/Grey Deluxe... else will trade the older Wing toward the CTX. I found it ('88) to be a bit lighter and easier to handle (at times) than the newer/heavier '08 and I was considering keeping it. But then seeing info on the CTX changed that idea. I figure the CTX will be a bike to fall right between the V45 Saber and the GL1800... resulting in 3 totally different but all good rides. I'm curious about what the CTX 1300 accessories will look like and be priced so I can complete it my way (I'll do the install). Had been real busy on other stuff (mostly work) and drifted away from riding since ~ '05. But now that I'm recently retired I'm happily getting back into it (and other neglects) more than in past. This sounds like a good group of people on the forum and I hope to gain a lot of info and share ideas about the CTX as I/We all anxiously wait for its arrival.

Hey gadgetman, welcome to the waiting room. We are walking holes in our foot gear and the carpet not to find out if it's a boy or girl, but to sit on the seat of a CTX 1300. We have lots of room for you to walk too. Lol

Just got word from my dealer today confirming he got documentation that his/my CTX order went through just as I wanted (Deluxe in Blue Grey) and it will be shipped 4/11. That is fine by me as it's not riding weather yet and I prefer to get my older Wing sold so I have better room.
Dealer still doesn't have much info on accessories yet... &^^%%#@#!
One thing that bugs me is that a bike like this does not come with center stand and the projected cost is just not right! Did they do that to keep quoted weight and or price down or what else? Just rubs me wrong for Honda to do such. I would have also though the heated grips would be part of the Deluxe package... even if price had to be a bit higher. Oh Well.

Congrats on the order!

I think Honda was trying to fit in a little more with the cruiser crowd as for the center stand. A lot of cruisers I looked at before I bought my ST didn't have a center stand. I personally don't care and if it does keep the price lower all the better to me. Weight really isn't that much of an issue with the center stand. I would rather not have heated grips. I know many riders prefer them, but I prefer my heated gloves. Since I ride in colder temps than most I want the back-side of my hands to be heated and grips just won't do that. Again, I'm sure it is an option so that the price is kept lower.
