When I was prepping my bike for the season, I dropped my helmet onto the lid of my top case while it was sitting on the ground. It resulted in a kind of plastic scuff in the clear coat of the shiny black panel on the top of the case lid.

Any thoughts on how/whether you'd go about repairing something like that? Polish doesn't seem to do anything to it.

Thanks,
Jeff

You might see if a local body shop could maybe use some light compound on it, use a buffer to buff off the compound. Or you could buy some at a parts store and try yourself first. Me personally I would probably see if a body shop could buff out the scuff mark. Best of luck to you.

Rubbing compound did the trick. I'd never used it before -- interesting stuff! Left a bit of a dull smear in the area that I'll apply some polish to and buff out later.

Thanks!
