Had an interesting chat with my Insurance agent today he said he will have to wait till Honda put out the details as he looked and there was nothing like the CTX1300 anywhere. So I am insured but the rate will have to be fixed later. Seems CTX 1300 is in a class of its own!
Cheers

Confirmation of what Honda's been saying about it all along. It's a new kind of animal. Amazing, really, that the insurance agent recognizes that the CTX1300 is not just another cruiser or sport touring bike like so many others seem to.

Hmmm, I had no problem getting a quote from Progressive online a few weeks ago, even before anyone had their bike. I did have to choose OTHER since they didn't yet have the CTX1300 on their list of bikes. But I just put in the description (2014 Honda CTX1300 Deluxe) and it popped up right away.

When I picked up the bike, the guy in the business office gave me the card of a local agent who handles Progressive (among other brands) and told me that she is often able to get better rates than are available online. So I have contacted her and am waiting for a quote before replacing the vehicle on my policy. I'm told that because I have an existing paid-up policy with Progressive, the new bike is covered even though I have not notified them of the change yet. I don't want to wait too long to do that, though.

A followup:

Progressive's systems do not have the CTX1300 listed yet, and it did not recognize my VIN that the agent tried to enter. So I am still waiting to switch the insurance. At least I have 30 days to do that, but it makes me nervous riding around on a bike that may not be "officially" insured...
