Just received my new CTX 1300 today. Went for 100 mile ride and it is beautiful. I love this thing. I'm kind of late to the game. I am 58 years old and just started riding last year. I started with a 2001 Honda Shadow Spirit. Nice bike and I'm glad I started with that. However it was time to move up. I am glad I chose the CTX. I was debating between another cruiser or a sport touring bike and this was the perfect combination.

The spirit is a great bike. Guessing you really enjoyed it too.
As a new(relatively) rider, have you taken a rider course?
As far as age, you are about the average here. I'm a little ahead of ya.
Most of us have got a long list of previous bikes and love the CTX. Yes, there is a shorter list of those who have just as much experience that do not like it.
Here is hoping you are with the group that enjoy your purchase and find it enjoyable.

Yes I took the MSF Basic Motorcycle Course last Apil before I bought the Shadow. Highly recommended for anyone thinking of riding. While riding yesterday I got a thumbs up from a guy on a Ducati and got a couple of long looks from some Harley guys. I can tell they were trying to figure out what I was riding.
