Would somebody help me how to place a link with an additional text displayed rather the link itself (hope you know what I mean)

Another way is to type the text as you want it displayed, select/highlight it, then click the hyperlink button in the tool bar above the text box. Type or paste in the actual link where it asks you to enter the URL, then click OK. It ends up doing the same thing that Dexter said, but you don't have to remember the syntax.
