There is also this place which caters to motorcycle groups and has trailer parking across the street. It's three miles from the entrance of the Cherohala Skyway and will be half the price of the Iron Horse at the time of year. I've used it before. It's old but it's clean and comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect. There are several Hampton Inns nearby.... just putting an alternative out there.
I don't know about the Iron Horse but it was the Big Lynn Lodge in Little Switzerland that included breakfast and dinner in the price.I’m getting old. Did it or didn’t Iron Horse include a meal or two in their price? Or was that another place ? If so that is added value to the per night costs.

Mountain folk here are like islanders in the Caribbean, they do things at a different pace than the rest of the world.something doesn't seem right here with the Iron Horse. if they can't take reservations now, a very few weeks before the riding season starts then this is quit alarming. also , if they get their reservation system activated in a "few weeks", they will be swarmed with reservation requests and who knows how they decide the booking orders. just my 2 cents.

Iron Horse has breakfast & dinner on site. It is an additional cost of $15 to $20. That is probably how @MamaBear is coming up with a $50 cost for a camping site with no electric.Iron Horse include a meal or two in their price?
Me too!i stayed there twice, loved it
The $36 camp fee is just for one person. $36 camp fee + $8(extra person) + ice/firewood bundles + 11% tax and you could easily get close to $60 total. But for the area with the amenities that Iron Horse has, the listed prices are comparable to other places to stay. Even Deep Creek campground in Bryson City is $25/night with no power or hot showers. I spent a week every summer tent camping there growing up and I still remember taking cold showers.Iron Horse has breakfast & dinner on site. It is an additional cost of $15 to $20. Look folks.... We are going to have a great time and the roads are going to be awesome.
Kickstand lodge is a couple of miles down the road and last time we stayed it was 18 bucks a night for tent camping...they have cabins too but not sure about price. Motorcycle riders own the place and its a hidden gem. I know Mo...Iron Horse also has 6 small trailer sites with 110 volt power listed at $43 + tax. The final cost is anyone's guess. I looked at some other properties online in the area. One campground and cabin resort had prices listed from 2018 on their website. Another had a $20/night service charge and $60 cleaning fee. Hope they get back to Steven about what the real costs are.
