mini floorboards

The CTX 700 folks have been installing the Kurayakyn mini floorboards. Anybody considered this? I don't like the way my boots are locked in place by the 1300 pegs. Unfortunately, the kury folks couldn't yet tell me which splined adapter would fit the bike. THe CTX 700 people use 8815.

That nice to have.. However, now on my part I'm kinda worried about the foot peg and ground clearance.. seeing from you tube many crusier crash during turn because not enough ground clearance.. anybody can share some experience with CTX1300 on this point.
Thanks and regards,
i think it would look weird

but if you get some. share some pics :)
Personally I haven't actually know first hand of a cruiser crashing due to dragging the pegs, but I wouldn't be surprised that it could happen, provided the pegs are fixed and not hinged as most primary pegs are. I did drag the stock pegs on my GW a few times but the way they fold up and back it was a non-issue, no problemo, and was nothing more noteworthy than my foot on that peg getting vibrated as the peg "feeler" bolthead chattered on the pavement. The first time that happened the pavement was riddled with cracks and somewhat uneven seams and that still didn't cause an issue.

With the CTX I've had it leaned over a bit in sharp turns but have yet to drag pegs with it. There's more clearance than you think. If you put aftermarket pegs on make sure they are hinged the same as the stock pegs and don't hang down lower than stock and you won't have a problem. All bets off if you put on fixed pegs that are not hinged or hang lower than stock. I don't care for floor boards myself but I know many who do like them. Cannot answer for any resulting putting them on a bike like this one.

I guess from above link. The crash might start from foot Peg scraping.
Thanks bob for sharing!
Usually it takes more than just the peg scraping to crash, as like Bob says, the driver's pegs usually fold just for that reason. Every floorboard I've seen folds, also.

Now if you ignore that scraping and keep leaning, then you're really just tempting fate. I did that once in a hairpin on my VTX1800, and it scared the bajeezus out of me. I had caught the Kury cruise peg mount, which stuck out just a little further than the regular peg mount, limiting how much the peg folded before something solid made contact with the ground. I must have done it a few more times after that, because I've got pics somewhere of how much of the mounting bolt was ground off. Both sides. :D

Not totally off-topic ... pegs and stuff from the VTX1800C.

Left footpeg (the worst of the two):

Left cruise peg mount:

Right cruise peg mount, because both sides deserve equal time:

This is before I threaded in titanium bolts under the pegs. What a light show that made. :D

That HD has more than likely been lowered and he went beyond the floorboard and actually had the primary case touch down which lifted the rear wheel....done.....I've had two HD and a Kawi Nomad and scraped the boards on all of them from time to time but never had that occur.......

Actually his saddlebag caused that crash - it is a common practice in Highway Patrol to scrape floorboards on a turn - we actually trained in that manner. Not saying that couldn't cause a crash, but in this case it was that saddle bag. :)
Mini floorboards

I've had them since last year no scraping issues love the option of putting my heels up on the front to stretch my legs. Got adapter part number from a guy on the forum about a year ago will try to find it
