Rear trunk carrier base

I was installing this yesterday and the instructions say " Be sure that the rear carrier base moves right and left smoothly as shown" Can anyone help here... Are they saying don't tighten the bolts too tight to prevent the 1/2 movement and if so I don't understand why, anyone been at this confusing place.. :ty: thanks in advance

So does that mean I need to loosen off the bolts until it can move??

if you have all the washers in correct it should move when the bolts are tight
it doesn't flop around because the 2 robber bushing in the middle. just a little side to side
all bolts tight, should move

no problem at all
go to Hondas web sight
pull up ctx
pull up accessories
go to rear box mount and it will give a great pic of how they all go on it
just mounted mine last week and was a breeze

Trunk looks good.
Does it have the same style latch/locking system as the CTX side bags? I was spoiled by my Wing and how easy it was to open and close them.

Mixed up the order of the plastic and rubber washers, working good now...thanks again Jim :smile:
