Hi All,

I just signed up and wanted to say hi. Just took delivery of my blue CTX 1300 Deluxe on the 4th of July

Took it in today to get the handlebars lowered a bit, and to talk to the dealer about that notorious tab on the left cowl... I can see my mirrors now but looks like I'll have to live with the gap. For now at least.

For accessories I went with the trunk, center stand, 12 volt, heated grips and tall wind screen.

The bike is still very new to me obviously, as is the fact that it is by far the largest one I have ever been on (I'm a fairly small guy), but so far I absolutely love it.

Take care all, see you around.

If the tab isn't completely missing, I used black plastic epoxy and some fiberglass cloth to fix it up enough to hold. One of these days, I'm thinking of cutting out some sheet metal brackets to place behind the tabs and epoxy them on.

Welcome to the forum @Jag22
Was that July 4 last summer?
Lowering the handle bars did it for me also.

I remember when I first started with the biggest bike I ever owned. It was a Gold Wing and the first many miles were really rough, but I did get accustomed to it after that and went on several rides 2 up. It became easier and easier to handle with the miles. Every other bike after that one was easy. Though I prefer my bikes to be lighter and lighter as I get older.

Welcome @Jag22. I think you’ll get the hang of it pretty quick. Nice bikes once you get it set up for YOU. You mentioned being short. There are a bunch of posts on what guys/gals have done to assist ya there. One thing I did on a Wing was have the forward part of the seat narrowed so my legs weren’t spread apart as far to reach the ground.
Enjoy your ride. Stay safe.

absolutely correct!! changing the configuration of the seat really helps to flat foot the bike when at rest. might check into getting a corbin close seat. they are a bit pricey but very good quality.they also really help in the area of ergonomics. good luck and, have fun! most of all, watch out for the crazy cagers!

I personally like the CTX mirrors the best. My camera records 180 + what is passing me in the mirror. My other bikes give me a good view of my shoulder.

Welcome! I am 5'8", but shorter in the legs, so that was what led me to discover and ultimately buy my CTX.
Once you get it how you want it, and learn your limits on the bike (I push this WAY more than I did my prior cruisers)
you'll look for excuses to ride it!
keep an eye open in the classifieds here, as Corbin seats turn up from time to time. I keep hoping, as $1000 for a seat seems a bit high.

I have a Corbin on my 2014 Valkrie and my Victory. I had one on my CTX and sold it. Val is good, but the Vic could be better and I went back to a stock seat on the CTX.
