I went to visit my dealer at lunch today. Tri-County Cycle Sales in Corbin KY. He can get me a Deluxe in red or black next week, but he can't even get a ship date for the blue Deluxe I have on order.

I told him I'd let him know tomorrow if I can use one of the other colors. I'm not buying the bike for its looks, so I'll probably just go for whichever color he can get the quickest. It will be dirt colored in a week anyway.

I talked with Honda of Cool Springs in Tennessee. They have VINs for a red standard and a red Deluxe. They expect them any day now. Their web site lists the bike as "Coming Soon". I bought my ST1100P and my GL1800 from them. They are a Powerhouse dealer.

Have any of y'all heard of any blue Deluxes in the States?

Based on the little bit of checking I've done, it looks like I won't get a blue Deluxe from a lower-level dealer before the end of April.

I've changed my order. I told my dealer to get me a red one and if they suddenly have an issue with that I'll take black. Honda told him it would ship from the distribution center on March 17.

This will solve one of my issues with a new bike. Most of the folks at work won't even notice that I've replaced the CTX700 with a CTX1300 of the same color. That will mean fewer interruptions the first few times I ride it to work.

If I can have the new bike next week, I'll be able to ride it while I get the warranty work done on the Trophy and then have both bikes available when the riding season peaks from mid April to mid May.

Too bad that they couldn't get you the color that you wanted originally. I can understand there being a wait but not a full month longer. Why wouldn't they just ship one since they have your order already?

Be sure to let us know when your CTX1300 arrives.

I dunno, man. I guess it depends on how badly you want one color over another vs. how badly you just want the bike. It's not a small expenditure, and you're likely to have it for quite a few years (unless you're me who some years changes bikes more often than socks), so you should get exactly what you want.

I've kind of got my heart set on gray/blue. The only question is if it will be a basic or deluxe, and that will all depend on what kind of money the dealer is talking about. I'm usually pretty impulsive, but this time I think I'll wait for the one I want. Unless seeing a red one up close really lights my fire, which is always a possibility.

Oh, and since you asked earlier ... my dealer is getting a gray/blue deluxe (and a black standard).
