I was very excited to hear that so many of you were getting the tall windshield and even the luggage rack... When I called the dealer that I bought my CTX at and gave them the part number for the shield and rack that I had gotten from this forum, they said the parts were not available yet - and that was the end of the conversation for them.

I called another dealer on Saturday and gave them the same part numbers, and got the same answer - at first - but they did a bit of digging and came up with a bulletin from Honda with some new part numbers for these parts that they could order.

I now have the tall windshield and the luggage rack on order (should be in the end of this week). Just in time for a trip up the Dragon Tail and around the Smoky Mountains that we have planed for Memorial Day weekend.

I do not know if Honda does this all the time with part numbers or not (no prior experience). Here are the new numbers:

Tall windshield: 08R70-MJN-A00 ($125.00)
Luggage rack: 08L70-MJN-A000B ($163.00)

I got the same thing for my dealer. I ended up calling Bob's dealer in Iowa for the windshield!

Taller shield is available from the Ft Myers, FL dealer now. Passenger backrest will be available in June. I'll get them in the fall when I return to FL. I'll ride my STR 1300 up north over the summer.

Yep, there are 2 mounting holes in the front of the luggage rack that the backrest mounts to. And last I knew these are the p/n for it.

Yes, my understanding is that the backrest must be installed on the carrier rack. I believe there is only one for this bike. Your best bet is to call a dealer with the part number. They should be able to look it up. Their problem right now is that most of them don't have any way to find these part numbers yet.
