Hello all,

I just got my tall windshield and my rear carrier mount in yesterday and I was wondering if anyone else has the rear carrier mount for the passenger backrest yet. From what I can see there just looks to be two screws where the passenger backrest would bolt in and seeing how we have to wait until July for the backrest if anyone had ideas of a universal backrest until we get the official one in. I called Corbin and they said they have a seat in development but that it could be up to a few months out which is not really any quicker. The wife wants to have a backrest before she will do anything more than running errands around town....

That's the only kind of riding my wife might do with me... errands around town, trip to the farmers market downtown, etc. She won't travel with me any more... or at least hasn't had any desire to for the last 6 years. Have any photos of the luggage rack installed?

It looks to me like the factory backrest and bracket are tightly designed for this bike; if be very concerned that an after-market option won't look nearly as good on it. This is one item that I think is definitely worth the wait from Honda.

Finally got some spare time tonight to put this on and I was very surprised that it only took me about 10 mins to put on and really that was making sure all the hole markers were put in the right place. I was a little worried about the bottom spikes (don't know the technical term) when I took it out and looked at it. I didn't want anything scratching up the paint job on her....I got some close up picks of this part in case anyone else was wondering the same thing..there is plenty of room underneath these before they hit the paint at all...

Thanks! I was worried that it would have some plastic wrapping over the bars to keep the blacked out look. However this is all metal and the finish I have to say is pretty good!

Those "spikes" would be additional bungee cord hooks for what you would strap onto the luggage rack.

They said it was a large box but do not have any plus will not till July. I asked the guy why $30 if you do not have any and have not even seen them to make that evaluation! NO answer. I cancelled that order, and probably will not try doing business with them again. After all the ad said free shipping!

I ordered this up the same day I bought my bike through the dealer. When we were finalizing the paperwork he pulled up his listing on accessories, and he said that he could get the tall windshield, and that they had a note that the rear carrier mount was available starting that day..he didn't have any info on how many they might have...so I knew I was going to get the back rest in July and didn't want to have to wait on this part in case it was sold out so I told him to just order them both now. This was on I believe April 26th. My tall shield showed up in two days at the dealer but the rack didn't show up until this last wed and the parts guy said this was because it was shipping out of the California warehouse. I would double check with the dealer and see if they can order you one in. I'm sure that almost any Honda dealer should be able to order them...there can't be to many of us ordering them at this point I wouldn't thing...

On a side note for now I just mounted my cortec 2.0 tail back to this rack and it did actually help the Mrs...with having something behind her for now. I will take some pics the next time I get a chance to share.

Here you go... from the Honda Japan web site. I also don't have my packing slip with me so will have to verify the windshield number when I get home. On this web site the accessories are listed and pictured on the page accessed when you click on the last button to the right on the bar that has "CTX" on the left.


Luggage rack p/n: 08L72-MJN-D00ZB
Back rest p/n: 08R71-MJN-D00ZA (this may be only the white color matched back rest, you will have to have the dealer start here and search similar p/n for other colors)
Tall windshield p/n: 08R70-MJN-J10

My Japanese is not too good, but it is good to see that there are more accessories in the works. The rack, back rest, and tall windshield are a MUST. The top box will probably go on the wish list - maybe even the fog lamps. Not sure what the other things pictured are, but I probably don't need them... Well, not yet anyway

Thanks guys for getting the part numbers. I came home to realize that it was garbage day!! I would think that the tall windshield shouldn't be to hard to come by...and see if you can get a discount I believe that I paid 104 for mine before tax. I think Bob even got a better deal than that. Helps if your buying from the dealer you purchased the bike from too!

@cwal21 Depends as to what you mean by "carrier":

08L72-MJN-D00ZB is the luggage rack, the Y-shaped metal part that connects via 4 bolts to the rear of the bike "hugging" the passenger seat on the sides and providing a base for the rest of the rear-mounted accessories. YOU NEED THIS

08L73-MJN-D00 is the trunk mounting bracket, the square-shaped metal part with 8 holes that I was talking about above. It goes on top of the luggage rack and on top of it goes the trunk YOU DO NOT NEED THIS
