Was this the Progressive MC show I presume?
One of the ST-owner members reported on going also today and mentioned a conversation he had with the SW Regional Sales Director. When asked about a future ST1300 the SD referred to the bike currently on display at the show and said those are the kinds of bikes Honda will be selling now and in the future to the US market... implying there would be no more ST. Personally I agree with the guys on the other forum that it would leave a gap in the line up at Honda. But if the CTX1300 is all it seems to be I would be OK with that. There are other brands that still will be selling the ST style bikes. Some times a company has to choose where to direct their resources to best benefit their bottom lines. I'm just glad there will still be a Honda bike that fits my style of riding.

Yes, its the same international MC show that tours the country each winter. I don't see a CTX replacing an ST style bike, its in a class by itself. I could see Honda not selling an ST in the USA but would be foolish not to in other parts of the world.

Anybody know what's up with the VFR1200? I don't see anything about one for 2014 in the US; otherwise it would be my guess that they'd be filling the 'sport' side of the sport-touring segment with that. It has (had?) a bunch of touring accessories, and even when it was introduced, it was rumored to be replacing the ST1300 (a nice bike, no question, but not a great replacement for the ST if you ask me).

As I noted in an earlier post, I do feel for the Honda loyalists who want a sport tourer rather than a sport tourer. This isn't the first time Honda has just abandoned a segment like that and left a relatively small but very loyal (and vocal) following by the wayside. But from a business perspective, I can also see how they can only support so many models at once, and sometimes they have to shake things up to reinvigorate sales and overall interest in the brand. It's little consolation to the ST guys, but it seems like the CTX1300 is doing exactly that.

I've always felt the ST1100 was more tourer than the ST1300, which seemed to me to be a bit more sport. That's why I like the ST1100 more, and expect to like the CTX1300 even more yet.

I did see there is a 2014 VFR1200f that was shown at EICMA but it's not on the Honda site... at least for the US. It is a V4, and is less than 30 cc smaller than the ST1300 but has a transverse mounted engine. Looks like it has DCT now.
The one shown here is fitted with a touring package like the ST. After looking at the specs I agree it is not a good replacement for the ST but may have to do for those wanting something newer but in the same class. The current stock of ST1300 should last a long time though given Honda reliability. So it will be just those who don't mind moving on to something else selling their ST to those who want to stay with that model.

Does the VFR1200F come stock with the top case and saddle bags? I didn't even really know about this model before seeing it here. It look beefier than the CTX1300. No pricing or anything yet eh?
Nope, top case and bags are optional accessories on the VFR1200. It's been out for a few years now; it's definitely more on the sport side of sport-tourer.

The only problem with the 2014 VFR1200f that I can see (other than the touring package being optional) is that it's not going to be available in the U.S.... yet(?). I think there is an older model year available here (2013) with DCT. It's listed in the Sport category on powersports.honda.com

Somebody over on the ST board said they were told that there would be a 2014 VFR1200 in the US. (I heard from a guy who heard from his barber's landscaper ... ) All of which I guess means next to nothing until we actually see it on the Honda site or in showrooms.
