On the bike I just bought some of Charlie's bars saved a previous owner. I have no idea of what happened however bike went over hard enough to put a little scrape where bar met concrete. No big deal just a shot of paint if that was the end of the story, BUT....on top rear bolt the bracket part cracked.

I sent Charlie an email with pictures but a few posts make me think he's busy with life beyond these and was hoping someone had a right on laying around.

As luck would have it my dusty old wire welder I thought I would never need was sold a couple months ago to clean out the garage, so maybe off to welder if no one can help.

Probably your best bet is to go to a welder and have them weld it up for you.
Yes means cutting off the part with bolt holes and welding on a new part to the tube. It's a fairly difficult thing to get it all lined up right, probably need the bike to test after spotting part. Most shops don't want to mess with small stuff because it can become a real time consuming issue.
Fingers crossed I would rather buy it ready than spend the time trying to get it fixed correctly.

Just looking at your picture I’d think it could be removed/welded up/refinished and be fine. It’s not broken off. And the other side could be used to “mirror” it being correct. Just my thoughts. Good luck.

Is the tube where it attaches to the mounting tab damaged too? I was thinking if you pulled both sides off and used the left for a tab template perhaps you could get a scrap piece of steel and mark it with the size and hole locations for that tab. Then mark the center of the damaged tab and tube as well as make the new tab for a welding shop to align before welding.

These bars are getting scarce and it looks like Charlie is not making them anymore? It might not be possible to find an extra someone has lying about.

I recall someone got two lefts by mistake and he was having a tough time reaching Charlie. My personal experience with Charlie was terrific, but that was back in 2018.

I thought I replied already, but I can't seem to find it. I recently bought these same crash bars and was sent two of the same side. After far too many emails and months, I finally received the correct matching side, but with no instructions of what to do wiht the wrong one. If it is the side you need, I"ll be happy to ship it to you.

Didn't hear it mentioned but the crash bar seems to have saved your saddlebag. Better to replace it then the saddlebag. Have a good one y'all!

I think that is one of the reasons (possibly) why @menosabe put the bar in between the bolts on the original version. The original version had shorter spacers and the top plate was bigger and shaped like a rounded triangle. I had that one on mine.

Sounds closer to the China version available. My wife only does short rides and is 5' 8" so legs probably not as big an issue like a short person. Thinking the welder won't be cheap so might just buy the China version. Might need to have the wife do a fitting first.
