Hi everyone. I have just received my new CTX 1300 more accurately I should say my new, old CTX 1300! Since April I had been putting up with the poor suspension which at times was closer to being dangerous suspension. I took on board everyone's well intended advice but ended up spending more time adjusting the bike's rear shocks than riding it.
Frustrated that such a great bike (and riding experience) should be ruined by poor components I had the forks rebuilt. New valves (compression and rebound) new springs and WOW what a difference. Next stage is to replace the rear shocks but I can tolerate the hard ride for a bit. Another fix is to weld a joining bar between the upright sections of the bars. With a simple tap on the front tire you can feel the vibration through the beach bars; a severe knock and you can loose the grip.
