It's in Canadia. $18,999 canadian = $17,214 US (today, right this second). So that's right about there.

Sometimes they were already sold to people or they are just show models, but generally I get your point. Why have a product around if you are not planning on selling it to someone who wants to give you their money?

I don't know about mc dealers, but when the new MINI Paceman came out last year, the first one the local dealer got was not for sale. Not immediately, anyway -- it was there strictly as a demo/live advertising/attention-getter. They did eventually sell it, but only after getting had enough of a regular supply coming in to keep one on the floor and a bunch in the lot. So who knows.
