Honda gives super loyal customer a free motorcycle

Don’t let anyone tell you that brand loyalty doesn’t pay off. You just have to be really, really loyal.

Since 1963, Marylander Harry Adler has purchased 54 Honda motorcycles, everything from scooters to a big VTX1800C cruiser. His 55th, a red CB300F was free.

To thank him for his continued support, a rep from the Honda Finance Corporation handed the 84-year-old Adler the keys to a CB300F at his local dealer, Horner Honda, earlier this week.

"It's rare that a company gets the chance to honor an outstanding customer like Harry Adler, who's shown unsurpassed loyalty," David W. Paul said in a press release. "We're thrilled to be able to recognize Harry's longstanding commitment to both the Honda brand and Honda Financial Services.”

According to Honda, Adler has purchased 38 bikes from Horner, and has eight in his garage today. He says the gift was a surprise and the CB300F was the one type of bike he’d been missing.
How many more do you have to buy to qualify?

"Buy 54, get one free..."

Considering his investment and interest paid? Doesn't seem a particularly impressive gesture to me.

But then, I'm a cynical SOB:eek:

They should give him one just because he's still riding at 84!

Right? Guy looks great. More power to him.

Honda got a boat load of national advertising for the cost of that bike.

WHAT! Hey, that is MY local dealer! It's Horner Honda in Salisbury, MD! I mean... My CTX1300 was literally parked right where they are standing. That guy on the left is Bud Horner, the owner, and the guy who sold me my bike. WOW! :D

Who says he's still riding? With 8 in the garage he may just be collecting:smile:

If the guy on the left is the owner, then who's the used car salesman on the right propping the poor guy up?

I can 100% guarantee that it's NOT a salesman at that shop; I've been going there off and on for almost 20 years, and I've never seen a tie on anyone, let alone a suit. And I don't think I've ever seen even a button-up shirt on anyone. In that picture, Bud Horner is probably wearing a Honda jacket to cover up his Hooters t-shirt! :p
