Hello All!

I thought this might be a fun thread. It would be cool for folks to share stories and pictures from their rides, mods, experiences, or whatever!

Post away! :D

I like it, Greg !!!
Thanks. Now if I can get the valve covers right. It's driving me crazy. I stripped them down to bare plastic and started over, just putting on a coat of black.

Took another ride to Delmarva Bike Week and had another crab cake sammich. Got a couple new patriotic due rags. I haven't been able to find any with the event on them. Only t shirts and none have a pocket.
Rode the back roads to Virginia for cigs, much cheaper there.
I was watching the other riders on the dual lane going the other way. Many would look my way for several seconds, so I'm pretty sure they were wondering what the H is that??
Been keeping my eye out for any other bluenicorns but I'm all alone out here.
Rode back up to Ocean City to check out their Bikefest, but I'm Not waiting in line to get into the parking lot at the convention center. So kept riding through town surrounded by Harleys with bad exhaust fumes. Gave me a headache so I pulled away from the crowd and got outta Dodge.
Head Blue Sleeve Headgear Hat

The new due.

My day:

On the bright side, it didn't happen During vacation.
I had (have) a 800 Suzuki Marauder that quit on me just before or just after my vacation ride, FIVE (5) years in a row. I'm pretty sure someone upstairs was watching out for me. The fifth and Last time it quit when I got home and parked it in the garage. The next day it wouldn't fire up. Even though I'm pretty sure what the problem was, a bad engine position sensor, that was it. No more Suzukis for me. It's growing weeds next to my garage.

Out for a late afternoon ride for convenience store coffee. Today is the last day of OC Bikefest and Delmarva Bike Week. It's eerily quiet. No rumble of Harleys Everywhere, just the V4 hum of a lone CTX.

I rode in the Rock n Ride rally (scavenger hunt) this weekend. Left Friday 7 am collected bonus locations till about 1030 pm grabbed a hotel on the road at 5 am, more bonus locations and got to Mammoth cave national park by 3 pm. Not sure what place I came in but had a good time the weather was great the road were great, rode in Tennessee for the first time, beautiful part of the country. Got up Sunday morning and rode back home about 900 miles for the day 2100 for the weekend. The bike didn't miss a beat and with the Russell seat it was very comfy. The MCCruise was the best thing I installed on my bike.

900 miles, I don't care to ride that hard in a truck. Have you done iron butt rides?

Yes, I have done two, but they were on a Harley FXRS. I attempted one on the CTX when I first got it, the comfort just wasn't there. Rain and traffic in Maine and New Hampshire didn't help either. I will get it done though.

how accurate is it? I love the idea, as I'm not always good at pre-ride checks.

It appears to be very accurate based on checking pressure before following the setup and installing. Afterwards I rode and the pressure went up as the tires got hot. When the tires cooled the pressure dropped. So far I like it.

The Meetup In The Mountains took its toll on the bike. Lost a reflector off the Viking Bags I installed a few years ago. Of course the company does not carry replacement parts. Probably cause they are made someplace outside the US. Repurposed some I found at a local truck stop. They look so so. Then rewired the lead to my top box running light/brake light. I guess years of riding and the wire flexing it broke the ground wire. Easy fix. So we are back ready to go. Stay safe all

I lost my right highway peg and mount and wore out my front tire at the "Meetup". I forgot to fold up my highway pegs in some of the curves on Friday and drug them a couple times. Came off on the way to Big Lynn Lodge on Saturday morning. Lost the left side coming back Suches a couple years ago. The clamp at the frame tube is weak but cannot find a better quality one that will work. Ordered new ones from Amazon.

Seems to be a recurring theme, losing highway pegs at the Meetups. Ken (Bladez240) lost one on the Tail of the Dragon in 2018, and I had a bracket come loose in 2020, but was able to get it tightened up before it departed.

Both of mine snapped off at the clamp. I think Stephen(@Koepper) broke one off a couple years ago at the "Meetup".

I’m amazed those snap so easy. A friend of mine hit a peg riding too close to those plastic tubes they stick up along the centerline during road construction when rerouting traffic from 4 lane divided to two lane opposing traffic. Snapped the peg right off. So I’m guessing my little problems/repairs were cheaper too.
My highway peg just came unbolted. The bolt loosened and it just fell off due to poor maintenance by the operator. 😔
