What's your wish list?

So what accessories are you considering for your new CTX1300? Crazy person that I am, I purchased several items before the bike was even delivered to the dealer! But I'd like to hear what other folks either have purchased or are seriously considering. This might be a good place to consolidate those, and post some reviews of things once you have them.

Passenger backrest for the wife, to be sure. May look into grips with something like a throttle boss. Had ShowChrome comfort grips with the Wrist Cruz palm rest that were fabulous on my VTX. If I can find something like those that look good with the CTX's black-outs, they'll be on the list, too. Can't really think of anything else just yet, though I'm sure after a few jaunts I'll think of something.
Here are my lists, as of March 27--two days before I pick up the bike. :p

ALREADY PURCHASED:
  • Short USB cable for phone (in right pocket)
  • Helmet Guardian dual helmet lock
  • P3 and Photon Blaster light sets from Skene Design
  • Blue Sea fuse block with power relay
  • Scorpio Ride Core alarm/tracking system
  • Chrome license plate frame

TO BE PURCHASED:
  • Garage door opener
  • Saddlebag liners
  • Rear carrier rack
  • Floorboards

I am also considering something else, but I will see what other folks think of it before going any further.

Well what is it? We can't let you know what we think of 'it' if we don't know what 'it' is! :p

I know, I was intentionally vague. I saw this thing at the bike show last year and can't decide if it's cool or goofy.

Lunasee Wheel Visibility

I kinda like it, but then I'm a big TRON fan. :)

What do you guys think?

Interesting! I don't think I'd put them on my own ride, but I don't think they're goofy, either.
My shortlist:
  • tall windscreen
  • top box (along with the carrier frame)
  • GPS tracker w/ GSM reporter and remote immobiliser
  • service manual
  • a proper licence plate from the same shop that made the one I have on my current bike (the dealer I'm getting the CTX1300 from uses blank plates on which the numbers are stuck -- no way that kind of crap is getting on the tail of my bike)
"IF" I do get this machine, and that's a big IF right now,I will toss that shorty windscreen into the trash [where it belongs] and put the optional tall screen on,then the accessory luggage rack with a rear trunk,[not necessarily Honda's trunk],fabricate a front mud flap to protect the radiator, add my deer alerts [which everyone says don't work],install my radar detector[don't wanna get into trouble, lol] swap my radio system and whip over from my Tbird, and THEN, search for accessory driver floor boards.[If none are available,I'll fabricate a pair.] Those are the things I installed on all my other machines, unless, they came from the factory with em.I think that's just about everything ya need to make for comfortable travel.Oh ya!! I forgot about a throttle lock [cruise control] for us ole folk. lol lol Dave!!!

My list coming yet. Wanted to look up a few things to post a few links if possible.
OK, here's my list:

>garage door opener and button from my current bike. hidden under fairing except the button on/near the left grip control cluster somewhere.

>OEM tall windscreen... maybe
or MRA X-creen Tour Bolt-On Variable Windscreen Spoiler Blade Windshield Extension - maybe

>Home built fused power panel with isolation relay - hidden under fairing
or Blue Sea Systems 5025 ST Blade Fuse Block with isolation relay

>Stebel Nautilus airhorn (black) - hidden under fairing and connected to supplement factory horn, not to replace. I did this same setup on my last 3 bikes.

>Grip Puppies - maybe, if the grips are skinny (skinny grips make my hands cramp)

>Throttle Rocker from my current bike - Thought I'd need cruise after my GW but found I do just fine with this.
Oh, wanted to ask how's your wrist Dave??? :D

>RAM mount for my GPS - haven't decided where it would mount yet but that would dictate what RAM mount parts to get.

>Garmin GPS cradle and direct wire connection from my current bike

>Gerbing heated gloves variable controller and direct wire connection from my current bike

>Knight Rider *Non-Sequential* LED Light Bar with Flashing Brake Alert - 4.7" 12 LED bar mounted just over license plate
I currently have the longer sequential 7.5" 21 LED bar mounted under my trunk mounting plate. The sequential (moving light) part is not really legal everywhere but I was told by no less than a dozen LEO (I asked) from all over where I ride (including other states) that no one would pull me over for just that.

>12v 15amp power port in saddle bag - on only when bike is on.
May have a second 15amp power port in other saddle bag that can be on all the time, or on it's own switch, powered directly from the battery for emergency use and change the switched power port to 10amp.

>LED driving lights - haven't decided which ones yet. To mount in same location as OEM driving lights.

>Kwik Tek Dry Pak Waterproof Duffel Bag (110 Liter) in leu of a trunk for LD camping trips.

>Oh, and of course a service manual. Gotta have that to do most of the above.

All electrical items will be powered from my fused power panel with isolation relay (turns it on when bike is on) except possibly one 12v power port. My home built power panel will have 6 fuses (or the Blue Sea also has 6) and I have 6 items here that need a fuse (other than any second always powered 12v port that would have its own inline fuse). I do all my own wiring and connectors. I use shrink tubing insulation where I can and liquid electrical tape (paint on) where I cannot. My wires follow OEM wire harness where possible.

I'll be mounting my Garmin Montana when I get the bike home. I'll run a cable to power my electric underwear while I'm in there hooking up the power for the GPS.

The dealer installs a cable to connect a battery tender on every bike he sells. That seems a bit of a waste on a Honda that will be a daily driver. I'll probably take that off and use it on the Trophy.

After the bike has been out a few months, I'll choose a nice aftermarket windshield. I'll look at MadStad and Cee Bailey. It would be really nice if I could get a WindBender for the CTX. The windshield is a long way from where my head will be. It may turn out that the only way to get smooth air is to keep the shorty. A lot of smooth air is better than a small amount of jackhammer air.

I've got a BeadRider ceramic seat cover that I might put on the bike for the hot summer days.

I'll take a look at the Honda luggage rack when it comes available.

If the fuel range turns out to be below 250 miles, I'll add an aux fuel tank over the passenger seat.

Farkling this bike will be very similar to what I did with the CTX700. The only failed farkle for me on the 700 was the windshield. I tried various configurations and never got it right. You can see my different attempts to find good air on the 700 at CTX700 - TennesseeSmith.

I've already removed everything except the Cee Bailey shield from the 700 for the trade on Monday. I'll take the original shorty with me.

There were 2 items in my list that I had trouble last night getting the web link to work.
Here are those items with links:

Blue Sea Systems 5025 ST Blade Fuse Block

Kwik Tek Dry Pak Waterproof Duffel Bag - x-large 110 Liter (2 sizes available, 70 liter and 110 liter)
I am thinking I prefer to keep the tail of this bike clean... no trunk. I like the looks better and I find the saddlebags should be enough storage for daily needs.
Any Honda Accessory Links?

Has anyone seen any of the Honda CTX1300 accessories yet? Any links? Still don't see any on their site.
Only on the Honda Japan site. Nothing here in the U.S. that I can find yet.

Nope, nothing comes up at all. It doesn't even list the 1300 as an option. I'm sure they will show up eventually, but it would be nice to have some of the stuff available at launch.

I think forward controls might be nice....you know...a feet forward vs on the pegs, like the CTX700.
Pegs or boards. I prefer pegs actually. The CTX700 is feet forward controls, just not boards. Did you mean floor boards rather than pegs?
My wish list:
Confirm purchase
1. LED Fog light
2. Top box and whatever needed
3. Upgrade Horn
Decide later
1. Garmin Zumo GPS (I'm worried that will have problem with bike warranty)
2. Paint protection sticker (cover all part of the bike)
3. Taller windshield
4. Upgrade speaker
5. Side mirror wider lens
If available may consider buying
1. Full exhaust system louder better like akrapovic
2. New Side saddle bag bigger and better

That most of what i could think of so far

I just want the dang passenger backrest. And a horn that doesn't sound like it came outbid a Crackerjack box.

I actually think I still have the original horn off the Thunderbird that sounded more like a car horn and less like a tweaky beep-beep that I had to change out when I installed the engine guards. I wonder if I can squeeze that in somewhere.

I ordered a Fiamm horn #40365 from Amazon but the one that arrived late last week didn't work so I'm getting that replaced. Should be here Thursday. It's almost a direct replacement for the factory horn. A little bigger diameter and a little more depth, but will still fit the same location. 130dB low tone to penetrate the sound insulated cages the BDC ride in these days. I took the Stebel Nautilus horn off the ST to put on the CTX but cannot find anyplace to fit it reasonably so going with the disc horn. Still at least 7+ times louder than the factory horn.
