Not sure if this is the correct place for my "problem" only noticed it today,I released my grip on the bars to see if I could picture an improved repositioning of the bars and what did I get yes you have probably guessed it "wheel wobble" or handlebar wobble the same as what I had on my GL1800.
No amount of balancing on the wing would cure it,but what did cure it was the balancing beads.
So it's back to the dealers to try to get an answer,has any one on here had the same problem.

I haven't noted this issue on mine.
It has been reported for the ST1300 that A FEW of those bikes occasionally exhibit this wobble also. Some of those were cured, for the most part, by tightening the steering head nuts(?). I think. I think tapered bearings was the better fix. Cupping on the front tire was also noted as the issue on some depending on what tire was installed. Cupping is often caused by under inflated tires... even Honda recommended inflation. I always keep my MC tires inflated at or near the TIRE recommended max (42psi rear/40psi front) and avoid this issue.
Of course, the CTX is very different up there than the ST and the GW, but may be something about how Honda makes them.

Thanks Bob,I have only done 1800 miles so tyres are as new,and there should not be any wear in the head bearings,will check pressures tomorrow it is now 20-10 hours here

Mine does the same thing. I have 11000 miles on it and it started about 2000 miles ago and is getting worse.

We had the same problem on the VTX's and the solution was to replace the crappy Honda steering head bearings with tapered needle bearings. The ones Honda uses are almost bicycle quality ball bearings.

For the VTX's we all bought All Balls brand tapered bearings. I have researched them and the ones for the CTX are exactly the same as the ones for the VTX, so it makes me think that Honda used the same crappy ball bearings that they used for years on the VTX.

It is a pretty easy fix, especially if you have ever done it before. If not, there are tons of good videos on the VTXCafe website. If anyone is interested, I can pull together the part numbers for the replacement bearings and do a little research about the procedure for replacing the CTX bearings, although I am pretty sure it will be very similar to the procedure for the VTX's.

Also, if you are anywhere near Jacksonville, Florida, let me know and I will be glad to host up a mini tech session to help you do the work. I am going to do mine soon.

Thanks for your very generous offer kookopelli,I would love to be in Jacksonville,but I am afraid it would be quite a way to ride from here in Cornwall,England.i am calling the Honda dealers in a few minutes it's now 9 am here.

Just had discussion with the technician at the Honda dealers,who told me its a common "fault" with some bikes at lower speeds between 30mph and 40 mph,he then advised me to remove the top box (case) which I will try just to prove point.

Thanks for taking the time to reply,would I invalidate the warranty if I fitted the bearings myself or would it better to get the dealer to do it.
